The makeup may still be on but the gloves are definitely off.

"I will bury you son." Those were the words of Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider in response to KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently calling Snider and his band a bunch of "baffoons". Snider also challenged Stanley to an on-stage sing off to settle this dispute once and for all.

The war of words between the two legendary frontmen began back in March when Snider appeared on the podcast of New York DJ and host of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show Eddie Trunk. It was there that Snider voiced his distaste for the decision by Stanley and bandmate Gene Simmons to have guitarist Tommy Thayer wear the makeup and costume of original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Eric Singer wear the makeup and costume of original KISS drummer Peter Criss.

Snider's comment went without a response for over four months until Stanley was asked to comment during Chris Jericho's podcast which was posted online this week.

Below are excerpts from both podcasts:

I have to side with Dee Snider on this. Just because he's not happy with the current KISS lineup doesn't make him a "wannabe" or a "baffoon". It just makes him someone with an opinion. He is certainly entitled to it. I think Paul Stanley could have taken the high road on this but didn't. Quite frankly, it doesn't make Paul look very good, with or without the makeup.
