I've been a professional wrestling fan for most of my life. I remember watching the old black and white classic matches they used to play on the weekends back in the 70's, where you'd catch a glimpse of Gorgeous George and Arnold Skaaland. I really got into wrestling around 1979-1980. I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and we really didn't get to see much of Vince McMahon and the WWF back then. In Oklahoma, it was Mid South Wrestling, Gordon Solie and the WCW, and Cowboy Bill Watts. I started to go see live wrestling matches at the Tulsa Fairgrounds, and I used to buy my tickets as soon as they went on sale, so I typically got front row seats. Luckily I brought my camera to a couple of shows and captured moments from 40 years ago. I hope you enjoy looking at these, they haven't seen the light of day in a loooong time.

Wrestling Photos from the early 80's

Wow, it's been many years since I saw these photos. It brings back so many memories, just like watching episodes of Dark Side of the Ring. Mid South Wrestling had an abundance of talent that eventually matriculated their way into the big AWA, NWA, WWF, and WCW leagues. I hope you enjoyed these photos. One of these days I'll find my autographs and put those pics up too.
