By teaming up with partners, advocating for change, and creating fresh programs, they are always working toward a future where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.

Tonight (3/14/25) is a big night for CTEF as they host a celebrity bartender fundraiser at Sugar Hollow Taproom. The event will benefit CTEF and feature live music from Classic Waze, all while Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves steps behind the bar. Mayor Alves will be showing off his impressive mixology skills, so don’t be shy—feel free to order up something complex or unique from this cocktail pro.

We caught up with the mayor this morning about the event, and true to form, he was overly modest about his mixology skills.

Lou: Mayor, is there anything else you want to share before we let you go this morning?

Mayor: "We’ve got all that straight, but there’s another event tomorrow. I’ll be doing celebrity bartending at Sugar Hollow Taproom, and we’re really excited about it. We kick off at 8:30 PM, and we’re raising money for our nonprofit, the Connecticut Education Foundation. The band playing is Classic Waze, performing all kinds of classic rock. You know, it’ll be '90s rock—early '90s, no less! I still can’t believe we’re calling that classic rock. This is wild. Come down, have a beer! I won’t be doing any crazy flair bartending, so if you are looking for that, you’re out of your mind. You’re out of your gourd. But I will pour you the best beer you’ve ever had!"

Ethan: You can't make an Old Fashioned, huh?

Mayor: "Well no I'm good at that because what I'll do is delegate it to somebody. There are some privileges' when you're the Mayor."

What a guy! He doesn't want to show-up any of the bartenders by advertising his skills but feel free to order something complex and request a little flair to go with it. Tip early and often, it's for a good cause.

Lost Blue Shirt Discovered on Shore of Candlewood Lake Island in Brookfield

On the priority-list of lost items, this is somewhere at the bottom but I figured it was worth a shot. If you're missing a blue shirt with white stripes on the sleeves, it's on this island on Candlewood Lake, somewhere in Brookfield.

High Definition View From Way Above Bethel

Bethel is a beautiful place to stroll around at street level or to view from above like "basspig" did with their drone, from high above the town.
