Danbury Fire Department Wants You
The City of Danbury Fire Department has announced that it is currently seeking applicants for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.
According to a statement from the Fire Department,
The mission of the Danbury Fire Department is to “Protect the life, property, and environment of all citizens in the most efficient and safe manner possible.” This mission is accomplished through emergency management, training, and education. Upon being hired, these individuals will participate in all aspects of the fire service including public education, emergency medical response, fire suppression, rescue, and many other emergencies.
Applicants need to interview with the Fire Chief and take written, psychological, and physical examinations. Applications will be available from July 1 – Sept 1. Requirements for an entry level fire position include holding a valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) and a CT or National EMT certification.
An informational orientation will be held via Zoom on Thursday, June 18 at 6:30 pm. Advance registration is required. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the City of Danbury Youtube page for those who do not wish to participate in the Q&A.
The Fire Department said, "The City is excited to announce the opportunity for dedicated and service-driven applicants to join the Danbury Fire Department. Danbury firefighters contribute significantly to the quality of life in the City of Danbury. We encourage all who are willing to commit to our community to apply for this rewarding career."
