Now I know many people bashed Lamont when he first took office back in January of 2019, but since then, he's proven himself to be extremely competent in handling the day-to-day issues in the state, and has done a tremendous job handling the COVID-19 pandemic as well.

Numbers don't lie, and according to ctinsider.com, in this particular survey conducted by Morning Consult which used daily interviews with a cross sample of over 5,000 registered voters as its basic methodology, Governor Lamont had a 64% approval rating during the third quarter of 2021. Earlier this year in a Sacred Heart University poll, the Governor also scored an impressive 70.7% approval rating of his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Connecticut.

Just to give you an idea of how high the Governor scored in this survey, the second most popular Democratic Governor in the U.S. was Dan McKee of Rhode Island who scored a 59% approval rating.

There were six Republican Governors topping the list of the most popular in the country, but Governor Lamont was the top Democrat coming in seventh overall.

Lamont's term as Governor of the state is set to expire in 2023, but earlier this month, he did make the announcement that he will seek re-election for a second term that could keep him in the Governor's Mansion in Hartford until 2027.
