Zippia just did a new study naming the favorite chip dip in each state and Connecticut, correctly, loves guacamole. They ran the study because February is apparently a very important chip dipping month. We have both the Super Bowl at the beginning of the month and National Tortilla Chip Day (yesterday 2/24/21).

It turned out the most popular dip nationwide was salsa and guacamole was #2 in the U.S. No state chose hummus or chick peas overall and that's proof that America is still the greatest nation in the world, hummus, ugh.

Zippia used Google Trends Data to find out what each state searched for disproportionately and we were googling guacamole like you read about. No surprise in coastal Maryland, they were up to the same old tricks googling crab dip.

If you live in Maryland, you have to eventually grow tired of talking about, purchasing and consuming crab, right? As far as I know, CT is not a huge exporter of avocados, we just like them. In Maryland, it's their industry, their identity and yet they don't ever get sick of it?

I live in Danbury and when someone mentions hats to me, I flip out and say enough with the hats. If I lived in Maryland and someone wanted to talk about crab, I'm not sure what I would do but it wouldn't be pretty.

Way to go fellow CT residents, we win again. I think I'll celebrate with four bowls full of straight guacamole, no chips, I'm going straight, no chaser.
