A New study conducted by Zippia reveals that CT's favorite candy snack is the Hershey bar.

To celebrate National Candy Month, Zippia set out to find the favorite candy in each state in the U.S. To get the answer results, they analyzed Google Trends starting with a field of 20 candy items. They did not consider gum, soda or seasonal candies in the study.

What did some of our neighbors choose? New York is wild about Sour Patch Kids and New Jersey's favorite is Starburst (excellent choice).

The Nutmeg State was very traditional and frankly boring given the other options. Who cares about a plain chocolate bar? These are some of the 20 that made up the candy field:

  • Twix
  • Almond Joy
  • Starburst
  • Sour Patch Kids
  • Skittles
  • One Hundred Grand Bar
  • Milky Way
  • Heath Bar
  • M &M's
  • Three Musketeers
  • Kit Kat
  • Mars
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • Butterfinger
  • PayDay
  • Mr. Goodbar
  • Baby Ruth
  • Crunch
  • Snickers

What are we doing here? Why do I have to be the guy to constantly ask this question of everyone in the room (CT)? Not only is the answer stale but I think it's dishonest somehow.

Were people in CT just Googling Hershey Bar again and again to taint this study? I think they would have to be, because if you put all of the above candies on a table and asked 10 people to pick one to eat, a Hershey bar would be the last choice every time, I know this in my bones.

Can we all agree to do a better job as a State, going forward? We are embarrassing ourselves out there.

P.S. I eat Starburst everyday. Really pay attention to what I just said. I'm 42, I eat Starburst everyday.
