As a parent, waiting for your child to come out of surgery can be absolutely agonizing.

According to a story on wtnh.com.,Connecticut Children's Medical Center along with hospitals across the country have incorporated the use of the EASE app. Two pediatric anesthesiologists from Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando Florida created the app back in 2013 to keep families in the loop about their loved one's status in the operating room. This is how it works.

When you're a parent and your child gets badly hurt, you automatically slip into panic mode and all you want to do is be with them around the clock. When your child is being wheeled into the operating room and you're unable to hold their hand or stroke their face, it can become profoundly distressing for both you and your child.

The EASE app is easy to use. It's very much like text messaging. You'll receive alerts, notifications, and progress updates directly from the operating room. The app has been described as Snapchat for the operating room allowing for one family only to receive the information before it disappears to protect the privacy of the patient.
