Road trips are the perfect summertime adventure. If you're looking for a stay-cation and something to do locally, why not try and find some of the great boardwalks we have in Connecticut?

OnlyinYourState.Com posted a great list of 10 boardwalks to check out in Connecticut. Now, none of them are super local, but the views are worth the road trip. Here are a few of the boardwalks they suggest you take a stroll across:

Silver Sands State Park - Milford, CT.
According to the site, the boardwalk starts at the parking lot and ends right at the beach all while taking in the beautiful grassland view. The park is also open for skateboarding, skating and baseball/softball.

Harkness Memorial State Park- Waterford, CT.
It's a popular wedding destination
and it has a beautiful boardwalk. Think about how perfect your wedding pictures will come out?!

Captain’s Cove Seaport- Bridgeport,CT.
Bridgeport isn't too far of a ride and it's worth it. Of course their is a great boardwalk to explore, but there are also a handful of great restaurants and bars. Strolling the boardwalk after eating delicious food and throwing back a couple beers? Sounds like a perfect mini-getaway to me.
