Honestly, as long as you like cats, cat cafes are genius. Sip coffee, hangout and pet cats? Sounds like the perfect day to me.

Connecticut is currently home to 2 cat cafes. You have Mew Haven Cat Café located at 904 Whalley Ave. They offer 50-minute cat lounge visits that cost $14 per person. Worth the money if you ask me. You can learn all about Mew Haven Cat Café here.

The other cat café currently in the state is All the Single Kitties that is located at 242 Main Street in Old Saybrook. This cat café has many different options for you to hangout with their cats. You can see all of their different options here.

Now, a new one is officially coming to Connecticut and I think it's important to share. Marcie's Angels Cat Café will be opening soon in Glastonbury. If you go through their Instagram or website, you will see that they have been hard at work at renovations to make this cat café one they can dream of.

Their mission is to provide a safe, clean and comfortable space for people to enjoy the company of adorable cats. Sounds like heaven to me! The café will host adoption events and partner with local shelters to fine the purrfect home for rescues.

Marcie's Angels Cat Cafe will be located at 3039 Main Street in Glastonbury. They will be having an invite only soft opening on August 8 and will be officially open to the public on August 15.

I think these are the exact types of businesses we need. They are meant to be a safe and relaxing space for humans and cats and their goal is to find the cats a loving home. Their motto is "drink coffee, pet cats, repeat" and honestly, I love it. I can't wait to visit.

In the Shadows of Wealth: Connecticut's 10 Most Impoverished Neighborhoods

The pockets of wealth in Connecticut are off the charts and that is the perception of our state in the rest of the country. Many Americans from other regions make assumptions about life in the Nutmeg State that we know are far from the truth. There are pristine communities where the rich and the powerful play with their toys and then there is everyone else. That division, that difference is extreme but for some it must seem even more desperate. These are the communities they don't tell people about, Connecticut's 10 Most Impoverished Neighborhoods.
