According to CT Insider:

Signs are up at stores in Danbury that state the store is closing on Halloween. And customers in Milford, Stamford, Torrington and Ansonia are being told those locations will also close on Oct. 31.

We spoke to Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves on September 26th and asked him if there has been any movement on a replacement for Danbury's Newtown Road Stop & Shop. The mayor said there has been some interest and then we provided our very helpful opinions.

Lou: Any word on Newtown Road, the Stop N's Shop? I read this morning that folks are looking to see what can replace that store as that goes out of business. That is a big space, what would you think would be a reasonable replacement, it probably has to be another grocery store, right?

Mayor: "Yeah that is what the landlords are looking for and from what we understand there are a handful of places that have reached out with some interest. So, now it's just finalizing what makes sense for the property owners and the right business that suits the neighborhood there."

Lou: Wegmans bro!

Mayor: "Oh, the Wegmans marketing team here on I-95."

Lou: We'll jump on that conference call and help out, we're very helpful.
