Every time I see winners from the Connecticut lottery, I think to myself, "when will it be my turn?" My only problem? I don't play. If I don't play, I'm not going to win.

I feel like I should start buying a few scratch offs each week just to see if I get any luck. Connecticut Lottery posts their winners pretty regularly, and when I look through them and see so many people win big chunks of change, it makes me want to participate too.

As I was recently scrolling through their winners list, one quickly caught my eye from September 4. A Connecticut resident from Windsor Locks got really lucky that day and won $3,000,000 on a $4,000,000 Fortune scratch off ticket. That winner's life instantly changed. As someone living in Connecticut, we can all use a little financial boost to help us out.

I had to check out the scratch off for myself. The ticket costs $50 and you have a 1 in 2.38 chances at winning a prize amount. The lowest amount you can win is $50 and the highest is $4,000,000 annuity. The chart shows the amount of unclaimed prizes for this specific game as of September 12. There is a lot of money to still be dished out and wildly enough, there are still 2 unclaimed prizes for that top prize of $4,000,000 annuity.

Just in this week alone, there has been a good amount of money given away to winners. According to the winners list, on Monday, September 9, a winner from Weatogue became $10,000 richer, a winner from Danbury won $20,000 and Ronald from Guilford won $25,000. On Wednesday the 11, two winners took home $25,000, a Bristol winner took home $50,000, and David from East Haven took $10,000. Yesterday, two winners claimed their money so far. One was from South Windsor and one from Norwich with one taking $10,000 and the other $50,000.

I hope my name shows up on that list one day.
