WalletHub.com has just released Best & Worst States to Raise a Family for 2025, and Connecticut made the Top 10. In order to come up with their rankings, WalletHub compared all 50 states across 50 key indicators of family friendliness. The five key dimensions were: family fun, health & safety, education & childcare, affordability, and Socio-economics. How did Connecticut land in the Top 10 of WalletHub.com's study?
I think we can all admit that in the category of 'Family Fun', Connecticut stinks up the joint. Family Fun is Connecticut's lowest ranking among all 50 states - We came in at #35 in that metric. We came in at #12 in the Health and Safety rankings, #7 in Education & Child Care rankings, #3 in Affordability? And #22 in the Socio-economics rankings. Which New England states did better? Massachusetts was #1 overall, New Hampshire at #5, and Maine just edged us at #9. The worst state to raise a family for 2025? New Mexico and Mississippi landed at the bottom.
