We're still under attack COnnecticut, our phones are ringing during meetings, while you're catching a nap, and it seems worse than ever.

If you are crazy enough to take a loan being offered by an unsolicited telemarketer in Connecticut, please, act like you're the only person in the state that needs money, for all of our sakes.

How many times did your phone ring today? Did you answer any of the calls? Neither did I. 90% of the thousands of times my cell rang in the past five months, it's been someone from a fake loan call from Simsbury, Waterbury, Hamden, Middlebury, West Haven, Stratford, or any other town someone can read off of a map of Connecticut. I trust nothing that calls my cellphone now. It's sad, I felt like I was one of the last holdovers from that last of the landline generation/first cellphone user folks. I still had trust that anyone who had my number was calling for a reason, and I should pick up. No more, I've been broken.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP ROBOCALLS IN CONNECTICUT?

According to ct.gov and the Office of our Attorney General William Tong, your first stop should be registering your phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. If you're still getting calls a month after registering, then you can act, and report the offending number at that same site. I've done those, and the calls keep coming. I've blocked quite a few numbers over the past few months, especially if I see the same number repeat.

What can you do beyond that? Don't answer your phone, for anyone. If someone really needs to get in touch with you, they'll leave a message.
