Do you consider life in Connecticut to be boring? We have endless entertainment options, miles of shoreline and some of the best hiking trails in the country, yet a recent study has ranked our state near the bottom of it's study on which states in the US are the most fun for 2025.

WalletHub has just released Most Fun States in America in 2025, and Connecticut has been judged to rank #43, among the lamest. In order to determine their rankings of the most fun and the most boring states in the US, WalletHub compared the 50 states across two key categories - Entertainment & Recreation, and Nightlife. Those numbers were further evaluated using 26 relevant metrics: Number of Attractions, Ideal Weather, Restaurants, Amusement Parks, Theaters, and Fitness Centers per Capita, Beach Quality, Number of Fairs and Events, Average Price of Beer & Wine, Time of Last Call, Music Festivals, and Casinos per Capita.

Overall Connecticut Ranks as the 43rd Most Fun State out of 50

Out of the two key categories Connecticut ranked at #40 in Entertainment & Recreation, and dead last at #50 in Nightlife. Only two of our New England neighbors did worse - Vermont ranked at #45, while Rhode Island landed at #48. Only one state in all of New England made the Top 25, Massachusetts snuck in at #24.

Who was ranked as the Most Fun States for 2025? The top 5 were New York, Illinois, Nevada, Florida, and #1 - California.

Connecticut is home to two of the greatest casinos in the world, the best pizza in the world, and an incredible diversity of entertainment options, but I agree with WalletHub's nightlife ranking at $50, our state shuts down at 9PM.
