As much as I'm happy for any efforts made to prevent violence, it still pains me that it even has to be done. 12 of Connecticut's community colleges are banding together to take another stand against violence.

The word NO, should, with out a doubt, mean no. But time and time again in sexual situations it sadly and horrifyingly does not.

12 Connecticut community colleges are working to prevent sexual assaults.

In a story from fox61.com,  the state's community colleges announced new efforts addressing the issue of violence on and off campus. There is an online program called Not Anymore, developed to teach lessons about consent, stalking and domestic violence.

This initiative is part of a state wide effort by Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system, anti-domestic and sexual violence organizations, the Chief State’s Attorney and law enforcement to prevent and address sexual violence on campus.

So while it pains me that we as a nation haven't managed to stop the violence, I'm proud that Connecticut works to be vigilant.
