While we have some bad here, we also have a lot of good. I can take that pretty even balance. We're not going to be great in every category, but I feel like we are really great in some important ones.

To me, one thing that really stands out about Connecticut is our school systems. Connecticut overall is very lucky in the education department. We have a lot of amazing school districts and regularly get recognized for the achievements of students who go through these districts.

Just recently, the publication Niche put out a list of the 2025 Best Colleges in America and a school right in our state sat at number 2 on that list. To me, that is a big deal for Connecticut. It shows how great our schools really are. While Connecticut has an array of colleges, the fact that we were able to take spot number 2 out of everyone is impressive. I'm sure you can guess which school it is. Yale University.

The website gave Yale University an overall rating of A+. They rated the school based off of different categories and their "report card" was as follows:

  • Academics: A+
  • Diversity: A+
  • Athletics: A-
  • Professors: A+
  • Dorms: A+
  • Student Life: A+
  • Value: A+
  • Campus: A+
  • Party Scene: A+
  • Location: A
  • Campus Food: A
  • Safety: C+

It's no surprise to me that safety sits at a C+ since Yale is in downtown New Haven. But other than that, the school has A's across the board. People that went to Yale always talk about how much they love it, so this is no surprise to me. It's also an extremely competitive school with the acceptance rate being only 5%.

I'm happy to see Connecticut get some positive light for something like this. Sitting in at number 2 is a very impressive stat.
