Being a member of this organization is more than a passion for Martone, it is a family affair. Glenn's three brothers, his sister and his father have all been members of the Brookfield Fire Department.

Glenn's friends describe his as humble and giving which is why his fellow firefighters were devastated to learn he has cancer. The diagnosis will mean Martone will need surgery followed by a lot of rest. Martone is a self-employed contractor which means his illness will be more of a financial burden than under different circumstances.

His friends and colleagues are taking action, trying to provide help to someone who has difficulty accepting it. The Brookfield Fire Department has organized a BBQ Fundraiser for Saturday, February 11 at the Fire House.

Brookfield Fire Chief Andy Ellis was recently a guest on our show (The I-95 Morning Show) and shared some information about Glenn Martone. This is what the Chief had to say:

"He's well-known all over town, has a great reputation and he would be the first guy to step up and help. He always is helping everyone else out in their time of need, so it is our turn to kind of help him out. "

I don't know Glenn Martone but by all accounts, he's a good person who believes in service over self. He sounds like a man who has selflessly served his hometown for decades. If you're a fan of the things I write or the show I do, please do me the favor of sharing this article with at least one person. We want Mr. Martone to get all the assistance he needs.

If you'd like to hear our entire segment with B.F.D. Chief Andy Ellis, click below. You can hear more about Mr. Martone, the event and hear which amazing local companies will be donating time and equipment to make the BBQ happen.

Want more Brookfield news? If so, check out the Ethan, Lou & Large Dave Podcast. The show is available wherever you get your podcasts, including Apple and Spotify. The program is the same one we do on the radio but with limited commercials and no music. You can also listen live by streaming the show on the I-95 Rock Mobile app, or tune into I-95 (95.1FM).

Drone Captures Crystal Clear Images of Brookfield From High Above

While cruising Youtube recently I found a video that captured my attention, drone footage from high above Brookfield, CT. The video happened to be of a section of Brookfield right above the radio station I've been worked at for 21 years, I-95.

High Definition View From Way Above Bethel

Bethel is a beautiful place to stroll around at street level or to view from above like "basspig" did with their drone, from high above the town.
