Brewster Man Charged With Raping 13-Year-Old He Met on Facebook
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office charged an 18-year-old Brewster man with raping a 13-year-old he met on Facebook.
Christian Salazar-Miguel was arrested Wednesday in Carmel following an investigation.
Salazar-Miguel had sex with the girl on Nov. 17, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said in a press release. During the course of the investigation authorities discovered nude photos Salazar-Miguel allegedly sent to the girl.
When authorities interviewed Salazar-Miguel on Wednesday, he admitted to sending the photographs and to having a sexual relationship with the girl, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.
Salazar-Miguel was charged with second-degree rape and disseminating indecent material to a minor, both felonies, and sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said in the press release that they suspect Salazar-Miguel may have additional victims.
Salazar-Miguel was arraigned in Village of Brewster Court and sent to Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond.
