Hey fellow residents of 'The Tri-State area' and 'New England', did you know that there is another term used to describe where we live in this world? It's 'BosWash', have you ever heard it?

'BosWash', can you guess what it means? It's the shortened version of Boston and Washington DC. BosWash is a new term that I've just read used to describe the Northeast Megalopolis that is the Eastern seaboard of the United States between Boston and Washington DC. We live in the most densely populated and economically powerful area of the US, where over 53 million people co-exist closer than almost anywhere else in the world.

New England is the first word I use to describe what region of the country I live in, I almost never say the Tri-State area. Connecticut's allegiance to New England has always been questioned, especially down the center of the state. I've always thought that the dividing line between Connecticut Red Sox and Yankee fans was I-91, but this BosWash term has made me think bigger.

We are so very lucky to live in this part of the world, in the shadow of Boston and New York City, but also a couple of hours away from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC. Our proximity to some of the greatest cities in America means that we are the test markets for the ideas and products that our greatest minds can come up with. BosWash, Megalopolis, Tri-State, or New England? I guess I'll stick with New England.
