On Sunday, October 2nd, Ethan Carey published an article called: "A Majestic Sand Castle Appears on the Shores of New Milford's Lynn Deming Park."

In the article, he explains that the Sand Castle (pictured below) was created by a local business called Create-A-Castle, owned and operated by Kevin and Laurie Lane.

Kevin worked with another sculptor named Dan Anderson (Dan In The Sand) to pull off this amazing sight. They used their sand castle tools from Create-A-Castle to make this wonderful dream a reality.

The Create-A-Castle folks wanted to do something eye-popping to celebrate another dream. They got their business featured on ABC's Shark Tank, in fact, they filmed their episode awhile back and it aired last Friday (10/7/22). There was even a screening party on the New Milford green that was attended by hundreds of locals.

The couple were big winners in the Tank, securing a deal with one of the Sharks. I reached out to Kevin Lane to ask him who invested, how much and how he feels about this success. This is what Kevin had to say:

"We accepted an offer from billionaire entrepreneur Kendra Scott, who committed to investing $350,000 in our snow and sandcastle building enterprise, in exchange for a 20 percent share of the business.  Going on Shark Tank was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our business!  It feels surreal, but we are so excited for what the future holds."

We got to speak to Kevin and Laurie on the I-95 Morning Show just prior to their Shark Tank appearance, you can listen to a portion of that interview below.

Congrats to Kevin and Laurie on their big win. Their hard work is evident and paying off. It's been a pleasure to get to know them a little through this process. The Lanes made New Milford proud.
