Two CT Gas Stations Crowned Best in America: World Shocked It’s Not for Potholes
Big news, this just in! Connecticut is now officially gas station royalty! That’s right, not one, but two of our humble pump palaces just got ranked among the best gas stations in America. According to American River Wellness, 3016 drivers were asked to name their favorite independent gas station in the U.S., and shocker...two from Connecticut made the list!

One even cracked the top 10: The RoadRunners Gas Station & Convenience Store on 2204 Silas Deane Hwy in Rocky Hill, which landed 7th overall in the United States. The Noble Gas Station in East Lyme, located on 51 Boston Post Road, also made the list at 75th overall, according to American River Wellness. “Grab the picnic basket, Mother — we’re motoring to glory, one bathroom stop at a time!!” Now I know if I'm on the brink of a bathroom emergency, I'll know where the public bathrooms are pristine.
After sourcing various websites, I came up with the Top 3 Danbury Service Stations, which are:
- Mitchell Gas Station - 7 Federal Road, Danbury...If you walk in to this gas station at 4 am, their freshly brewed coffee is waiting for you, along with freshly made breakfast sandwiches! They are the best!
- Friendly Service Station (351 Main St, Danbury)...Known for fast pumps and some of the cheapest gas in town. Good if you're in a rush.
- Atlantis Fresh Market (90 West St, Danbury)...Has restrooms, an air pump, good amenities, and a convenience store attached. Good choice if you need fuel and a pit-stop that doesn’t suck.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you the #1 best gas station in the United States as voted for by 3,016 drivers! Let's give it up for RUMPY'S BAKERY & DELI in Gainesville, Texas! Rumpy’s Bakery & Deli has earned a reputation as an incredible gas station bakery in Texas, thanks to its scratch-made fried pies, fresh breads, and deli favorites. Hot Damn, now that's what I'm talkin' about!
