It's finally that time of year where traveling to go to the beach is part of your day.

One thing I like about Connecticut is that we have access to many beaches. There are town beaches and there are state beaches. No matter where you are in the state, you're not far from the water. Whether it's the ocean or a lake, you're close to something.

If you're not picky, then Connecticut beaches are the perfect option. I definitetly love going on a nice day and being able to lay in the sand and go in the water. We are very lucky to be able to do that. But, when I think of best beaches around the country, Connecticut definitely does not come to mind.

Some of the Most Beautiful Beaches in the U.S. Are Drivable From Danbury

CN Traveler came out with a list of the most beautiful beaches around the state, and while Connecticut obviously didn't make the list, a few beaches did that are not too far of a drive away. When I think "most beautiful beach" I'm thinking Hawaii, Florida, California, etc., so to be able to drive to one that's not too far from where we live? I'll take it.

The first beach on that list - Rockaway Beach in New York. It's about a 2 and a half hour drive from Danbury and offers a 5.5 mile boardwalk with many different things to do.

The next beach that's not too far from Connecticut - Cape May, New Jersey. It's the perfect getaway and something that's easily drivable for the weekend. Cape May is about 3 hours and 45 minutes from Danbury.

Singing Beach in Massachusetts is another to make the most beautiful beaches list. This beach also sits 3 hours and 45 minutes from Danbury and would make for the perfect weekend trip. There's a lot to do and see over there as Boston is only a 45 minute trip away.

I like that we have options. I know sometimes you don't want to make the drive, but it's nice to be able to whenever you actually want to. Maybe this summer I'll make my way to all 3 of these and see which one I like best. I'll keep you updated.
