Today is Thursday, November 7, 2024, and most of the political season is now in our rearview mirror, right? Well, almost, there is this little thing about all of the signs urging us to vote for our candidate. I saw one man who is not taking this responsibility lightly, and he's the newly re-elected State Representative for Connecticut's 67th District.

William 'Billy' 'Mo' Buckbee just won re-election to the House of Representatives in Connecticut, but for the past 24 hours, he's been driving around New Milford collecting his unique campaign signs from all over town. Why? Because he has respect for the community he has been chosen to represent. I asked Buckbee if there was a certain timeframe that he had to adhere to for the removal of them, and he basically told me that each municipality has the power to enact laws regarding how long and where political signs can be displayed. Some towns regulate the size, while others strictly prohibit the display of signs on city or state-owned property.

Private property is another story, as we've all seen during the course of the last 4 years. If you want to keep that candidate's sign above your garage door forever, this is America.

Rep. Buckbee told me that most candidates try to have their signs down a week after Election Day, but he wasn't going to wait that long. 2024 seemed to be a light political sign season overall for the State of Connecticut, except for Southbury, I don't think I've ever seen more signs along Main St. South in my life. Be like Buckbee political candidates of Connecticut, take them down.
