As we approach the end of 2024, I've noticed that it's been a really bad year for locally-owned breweries in Connecticut, and I just found out that a couple more around the state have just announced their permanent closure by the end of the year.

Do you enjoy drinking beer? I enjoyed it very much in my 20's into my 30's, but I'm 55 now, and alcohol takes too much away during the intoxication for me to enjoy anymore. I never really got into the micro-brew scene, so I'm very lost in the beer aisles at package stores. One local brewery that I have frequented and very much enjoy every time I go is Woodbury Brewing Company in Woodbury. The beer is good, but even more so, this is a venue that keeps the live music scene in Connecticut alive. That's what I really love about locally-owned breweries, they bring in local talent to hone their chops.

Well, another one has just announced over their social media that it's all over soon, Great Falls Brewing Company on Main Street in Canaan, one of the only breweries in Northern Litchfield County, is shutting down for good by the end of the year. Last week, Aspetuck Brew Lab in Bridgeport, and Hop Meadow Brewing in Avon both announced that they would close for good by the end of 2024. The biggest loss of 2024 for Connecticut? Hartford's City Steam Brewery, which shut down during the summer after 26 years in business.

Don't cry in your beer, get off your couch.

Smal Towns in Litchfield County That Feel Straight Out of a Snow Globe

Driving to work at 4AM gives you a unique view on how beautiful it is around here when the world is at rest due to a snow storm. Five small towns in Litchfield County make me feel like I'm driving through a snow globe, or the quiet set of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Worst to First Ranking of the 12 Shopping Malls of Connecticut

The 2024 Christmas shopping season is underway, and I still prefer to do my shopping in-person, in a physical store. There are a dozen shopping malls across Connecticut, and I've been to every one of them in the past year. Here's how I see them, I've ranked them best to worst
