Another Retail Giant Set to Close Connecticut Stores
The closures continue. So many retail giants that have been around for so long are coming to an end. Another major retailer will be closing their doors in Connecticut this year.
Last week, rumor broke that multiple Forever 21 stores would be closing in Connecticut mall locations due to the possibility of filing for bankruptcy. Three of the six Connecticut locations were planning to close between mid-march and end of April, according to CT Insider. The stores that were planning to close were Manchester, Milford and Waterford.

Now, according to the Connecticut Scoop, all six Connecticut locations are planning to close their doors. There are liquidation sales happening at all 6 stores - including store closing sales and total inventory blowout sales. The article states that the stores plan to close, but have the possibility of remaining open if the Forever 21 franchise finds a buyer before the official bankruptcy.
It's crazy to see how much the shopping world has changed in the last 10-15 years. When I was growing up, Forever 21 was thriving. So many people would get so many outfits from their stores and it was pretty crazy to see how big their storefronts were and the amount of clothing in those stores. Now, there are so many brands that take the forefront and there are so many new ways to shop.
The six Forever 21 locations in Connecticut include:
- Trumbull - Trumbull Mall
- Milford - Milford Mall
- Farmington - Westfarms Mall
- Danbury - Danbury Mall
- Waterford - Crystal Mall
- Manchester - The Shoppes at Buckland Hills
- Mashantucket - Tanger Outlets Foxwoods
I never like to see stores continuously close down, but I understand. The economy right now is not great which is leading to so many of these retail giants shutting their doors. Like I always say, I'm looking forward to the day that we can report the masses of stores that are reopening.
