Another National Retailer Closes Over 300 Stores, Connecticut Affected
It feels like every week we are talking about national retailers closing their doors after filing for bankruptcy. What I find interesting is that it's not just one specific type of store. It's all different types of stores.
I came across the news that yet another national retailer was facing the same problems as some of these past ones. The business was just not there and it's time for them to start closing their doors.
American Freight is an appliance and furniture store that was founded in 1994 and has 328 stores across the nation. They provided a wide variety of top brand and competitively priced products.
According to PRNewsWire, American Freight has announced the start of their closures to all 328 of their stores. They have closings sales available both online and in stores where everything is up to 30% off the lowest ticketed price and all sales are final. It is noted that financing and delivery services will remain available for customers during this time.
American Freight is home to 2 Connecticut locations - their Newington location at 65 Holmes Road and their Derby location at 656 New Haven Ave, Suite 1. Both of these locations, along with all of their others, will be closing their doors for good.
I guess if you're in need of furniture of appliances, now is probably the perfect time to go and check it out. Store closings usually offer the best deals.
It stinks to see yet another business close their doors and file for bankruptcy, but I understand with the price of everything lately. What do you think will take over the Newington and Derby storefronts? I'm curious. Let us know your thoughts through the mobile app.
