According to a new study from WalletHub.com, we live in the 7th safest state in America for 2024, and our immediate neighbors here in New England have it even better.

WalletHub.com has just released "Safest States in America in 2024', and Connecticut has landed in the Top 10 at #7. In order to determine the safest states in the US for 2024, WalletHub.com compared all 50 across 5 key dimensions: Personal and Residential Safety, Financial Safety, Road Safety, Workplace Safety, and Emergency Preparedness. Those dimensions were evaluated using 52 relevant metrics, in order to determine a 100-point scale.

Some of the 52 metrics were EMT's, Law Enforcement, and Paramedics per capita, Bullying incidence rate, Hate-Crime incidents, Neighborhood Watch Groups per capita, Underemployment rate, Job Security, DUI's per capita, Road Quality, number of climate disasters causing 1 billion dollars+ in the past decade, and injuries and illnesses per 10,000 employees.

Congratulations New Englanders, we live in the safest area of the United States for 2024. Connecticut was listed at #7 safest state in the US for 2024, but our neighbors did even better. Vermont came in at #1, New Hampshire was named #2, Maine at #3, and Massachusetts at #4. The four safest states in all of the US are our Northern neighbors. Rhode Island? at least we beat them, Rhode Island came in at #9.
