A Sneak Peek of the New Restaurant Coming to Morris

I just got a sneak preview of the new homestyle Mexican & American restaurant that will open up along Watertown Road (Rt. 63) in Morris over the next couple of weeks, it's called La Guera, and oh man, it's very good.

Even before it's open, you can chalk up another victory for the Litchfield/Morris/Bantam restaurant/food landscape. West Shore Seafood, Pasture at March Farm, Materia Ristorante, La Catrina, and Bantam Bread Company all serve World-Class cuisine, absolutely among the best in Connecticut. La Guera should fit right in just fine. The restaurant is slated to have their soft opening during the first couple of weeks of November 2024, but they are planning a special Dia de Los Muertos Fiesta sneak preview event in just two weeks. My wife and I tried three items on La Guera's menu, the Chicken Chimichangas, Elotes - Mexican Street Corn, and Churros. Take a look at what's coming soon.

I love it when a food truck operator does well enough to plant some roots and settle into a real sit-down restaurant. Morris has a beautiful food truck location in the Pasture at South Farms on Watertown Road, and directly across the street we spotted a new restaurant that will have their grand opening celebration during the first week of November 2024.
