A National Article About Connecticut Finally Got it Right This Time
I love when a National website offers an opinion about something in Connecticut that I agree with, and it happened today. Delish.com put out an article they called 'A Complete Guide to the Best Taco in Every State', and something tells me they've been reading about what I've been telling you for years.
Do you cringe when someone that obviously has never been to Connecticut offers up their opinion on what is worth your time? It infuriates me when I read garbage like 'Buckland Hills Mall is the best in Connecticut', or 'Everyone in the Nutmeg state loves steamed cheeseburgers. You can argue with national tourism articles that list Mystic Aquarium, The CT Science Center, and Newgate Prison as Connecticut's top attractions, but I won't. I will however take exception to a national opinion on our food.
I do not believe that Pepe's/Modern/Sally's/Colony/Zuppardi's, or Roseland make the best pizza in Connecticut, I believe they all do, as does Domenick's & Vinnie's and Spartan's. I will agree with Delish.com's choice for Connecticut's best taco though - Los Garcia Mexican Fusion in Waterbury. Los Garcia is located right behind the Brass Mill Center mall at 836 E. Main Street. Over the past decade, they've captured the hearts and stomachs of nearly everyone in Waterbury, and hopefully now this national spotlight will get them the recognition they deserve state-wide.
Los Garcia serves Al Pastor, Azada, Pollo, Carnitas, Chorrizo, Beef Tongue, Birria, and Shrimp tacos, and they're incredible. Nice job Delish.com, I'd like you to offer your opinion on the best chicken wings in Connecticut next time.
