A Heartwarming ‘Fix-It Pop Up’ Event is Coming to Salisbury
I just found out about a unique pop-up event that is happening in Salisbury at the end of the month, and I hope more of these show up soon, It's a great idea, and it warms my heart that it's happening.

The beautiful Scoville Memorial Library and their next-door neighbor the Congregational Church of Salisbury are hosting Fix-It Pop-Up on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10AM to 2PM. Why did it warm my heart? Basically volunteers from both places will attempt to 'Fix' something for you for free (If they can). The event description lists:
- Sewing
- Mending
- Basic Bike Maintenance
- Jewelry Repair
- Lamps & Small Electrical
- Book-Spine Taping
- Small Furniture Repairs
- Gluing
- Glazing
- Tech Help with Software Use & Trouble-shooting
And I reiterate, the volunteers are offering their services for free. Fun fact - Scoville Memorial Library is the first publicly funded library in the United States. It all started in 1771 when 200 books were brought over from London.
I love this, neighbors offering help to those who maybe can't afford to, or travel to a tailor, handyman, or tech-repair shop. In lieu of any form of payment, a donation to either Scoville Library or Congregational Church of Salisbury will be accepted. Pre-registration is required, and there are restrictions and requirements, but if it can be done, the volunteers will help.
Pop-Up events are great opportunities to buy goods, food, or services in unusual locations, people who are trying to make a few bucks with their side hustle, Fix-It Pop-Up is definitely not that.
