45 Rescuers and Two K9 Units Search For Missing Hiker In New York
I'm certain that you have heard the saying "it takes a village to raise a child". The intended meaning of this statement is that it takes a team of people to provide a safe and healthy environment for children. The same sentiment can be used for any individual that needs help.
Earlier this month 45 people and 2 K9 units set out on a 16 hour wilderness search for a 61-year-old hiker lost in the woods of New York State. This is what happened.

According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), on Thursday October 3rd, at approximately 9:40pm, Acting Forest Ranger Captain Virkler received a call from the Oswego County Search and Rescue Team regarding a missing hiker from Massachusetts.
Following an investigation it was determined that the 61-year-old hiker had last been seen heading toward a hunting camp near Salmon River Hatchery.
A team consisting of Oswego County Police, New York State Police, two K9 units, seven drones and 8 New York State Forest Rangers was assembled for the search. As the team set out word came in that the missing subject has health concerns.
Approximately 1 hour into the search officials were able to locate the missing hikers ATV on a trail. The search went on through the night and into the next day. Finally at 12:40pm on October 4th search crews located the subject in good health and turned him over to Emergency Medical Services.
