2 New York Men Arrested Following Routine Traffic Stop
I am obsessed with watching those investigative news shows on television. I love trying to figure out these true-crime cases and mysteries. One thing that always drives me crazy is when the criminal gets caught because of something as simple as not using a turn signal and getting pulled over.
Guess what? Two New York residents have been arrested for possessing a large quantity of illicit drugs. How were they caught? These individuals were pulled over on a traffic stop because they didn't have their taillights on.
On Sunday August 25th at approximately 9pm, according to a New York State Police Troop C press release, officers initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in Cortland County after noticing a vehicle traveling with no taillights.
Officers interviewed the 2 occupants of the vehicle and something was not adding up. These 2 men from Syracuse had conflicting stories creating additional suspicion. This prompted the officers to investigate further. What they found was a large quantity of illicit drugs.
As seen in the picture above, New York State Troopers discovered:
- 110 bricks of heroin, with an aggregated weight of more than eight ounces
- Two containers of cannabis wax
- Approximately three ounces of cannabis
- Drug paraphernalia
Troopers arrested 25-year-old Kenneth W. Williams of Syracuse, NY and 22-year-old Kyrell E. Robinson of Syracuse, NY. Both men were charged with the following:
- Class “A” felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the first degree
- Class “B” felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree
- Misdemeanor of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree
