I really don't care.  I know that people do though so we will examine this until it hurts.

Donald Trump came out and said that he is going to restore the term "Merry Christmas" he's also willing to lose his lease with Starbucks in Trump Towers.  It's another genius move in his effort to break through political correctness and reach the American public with real talk.  He is on to something.  There was a time I did not think he was serious about winning.  I thought this was all a publicity stunt.  I thought that even last week.  I'm starting to think he means business.  That is scary because I think he will win the GOP nod.  It's not that I think he could not run the country from a domestic standpoint but I KNOW his foreign policy would be a nightmare.

As far as the Starbucks cups go.  This is a smart move for him.  There is a powerful Christian chunk of this country that feels ignored.  Furthermore that segment seems to believe that they are not only ignored but made fun of.  That is why he is going to win this thing.

Because I am not running for office I can tell you that I don't care.  I am a Catholic, a family man and a person that believes I don't have to convince anyone of anything.  I don't care that Starbucks has taken the inevitable stance that they don't want to offend.  It will get worse.  Our wallets from here on out will dictate how we vote and how we talk to people.

The world will change and maybe what we say publicly will change but if your family says Merry Christmas then that is what you say.  The fact that Starbucks turned it's back on Merry Christmas does not mean you will....it also has nothing to do with how you will talk to strangers.  If you grew up saying Merry Christmas then you will say it as a reaction during the holidays.  I'd be willing to bet that no one will get offended.  If they do...you should cut them from your life.
