Volunteer Income Tax Service (VITA) Helps Low-to-Moderate Income Families in Danbury
If your family’s income is below $54,000 a year, you could be eligible for free income tax services.
According to the Danbury Daily Voice, if your family’s income was in the low-to-moderate range in 2016, you may be eligible for free tax preparation services. VITA is an IRS-sponsored program where trained volunteers file state and federal tax returns at no charge. Last year VITA volunteers prepared around 500 tax returns securing $709,058 in total refunds.
