According to the News-Times, plans for a new boutique hotel called "Hotel Zero Degrees" are moving forward with the recent approval by city land-use boards including the Environmental Impact Commission.

The hotel will be built on Danbury's west side across the street from Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut. Vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial, Scalzo Group, Hal Kurfehs said, "The new hotel will provide Danbury with the luxurious facilities that executives expect and will bring the city to the next level of hospitality." Hotel Zero Degrees has proven successful in both Norwalk and Stamford.

Plans call for 111 rooms, a 100 seat restaurant, and a 120 seat banquet facility. According to the website, the hotel offers a combination "of old world hospitality and modern day amenities." The developer is RMS Companies of Stamford which just completed an upscale housing complex on Stony Hill in Bethel.
