March 10 is National Mario Day, in honor of the beloved Nintendo game character. Gamers with way too much free time figured out that MAR 10 looks like "MARIO" and so a tradition was born.

Over 200 million Mario games have been sold worldwide and the popularity of the series continues. My kids are older, so I am going to have to go old school to celebrate Mario Day.

I will bust out the GameCube, blow the dust off and challenge you to a game of Mario Superstar Baseball.  I want Waluigi as my pitcher, Princess Daisy as my leadoff hitter and an outfield made entirely of Shy Guys.  And whatever that weird blue thing with the grass skirt and palm tree growing out of his head is, batting cleanup.

After that we can play a round of Mario Kart.  I'm deadly on the cruise ship.  Watch out.

We could then move on to Smash Bros. Melee, but I never "got" that game so I would get destroyed.  However you choose to celebrate, Happy Mario Day!
