The Waterbury I-84 Nightmare Begins …

Interstate 84 is already backing up at the first ceremonial shovel of dirt!

I wrote about the massive highway widening project in Waterbury earlier this week, well, it is ON. I was watching the news the other night after seeing my Facebook friends complain about the traffic in my hometown all day, yep, it was because of this ceremony that happened on the side of said highway.

If you just woke up, I-84 East and West are going under the knife for a massive facelift that will last about five years, to about 2020.

Basically, they're going to eliminate the squeeze from three lanes to two lanes from the Brass Mill Mall area to Austin Road/CoCo Key-ville) And they've created a website for all of us to get the latest information from.
