Back on Wednesday, April 23rd, Lou and I worked in a couple of segments about The Danbury State Fair before it was shut down on October 12th, 1981 to build the Mall. Many of our morning show listeners called in to relive their memories which went from riding ostriches to enjoying the races, eating salt water taffy, to drinking beer. At the end of this post, check out one of our breaks from the show.

The Danbury Racearena seemed to be the favored memory of days gone by. We received calls from all over the greater Danbury area telling us if they sat out on their porches during race night, you could hear the cars from Brookfield to Danbury to New Fairfield.
