I hate that the election has anyone feeling the need to go to extremes. Sadly I fear it won't end any time soon

The ugliness of what many believe may lurk around the corner when President - elect Trump takes office was addressed via a walkout at colleges and universities all around the U.S. yesterday.

In a story from the Washington Post, students are demanding that colleges not share information with immigration officials, and that campus security not ask people about immigration status. Students, professors and alumni at many colleges are calling  on administrators to designate their schools  as sanctuary campuses.

Terry Hartle, of the American Council on Education had this to say to the Washington Post

it’s far too early to know whether any colleges will choose to become “sanctuary campuses” or even just what that means. It’s drawing off the idea of sanctuary cities, with officials refusing to help authorities identify and find students who may not be in the U.S. legally, but whether a college can say, ‘We’re a sanctuary,’ and have it make any meaningful difference is unclear

I know we have a myriad of problems and issues in our country that need to be addressed. But I for one am very scared when we start talking about the need for cities and college campuses to be designated areas for sanctuary. What's next?
