Shopping Retro in Connecticut [PHOTOS]
thefreedictionary.com defines retro as:
Involving, relating to, or reminiscent to an earlier time; retrospective
If I had my way, my entire house would be outfitted in a 70s retro motif, except for those lights in the photo below. They are lights, right? Could they be any lower? I don't need them resting on my head while I'm enjoying a Tom Collins.
If you've been thinking about picking up some groovy retro items for the house, there are a variety of places to shop in Connecticut. The best retro you can buy is at The Elephant's Trunk flea market on Rt.7 in New Milford, which just opened for the season on April 10.
Who doesn't need an authentic taxidermy pig's head for the man cave!
If you happen to have money to burn, head down to United House Wrecking on Hope St. in Stamford. They shop estate sales, flea markets, and tag sales and sell home furnishings for inside and outside the home, although it is a bit pricey.
Or you can go the way of your every weekend tag, garage, and yard sale by buying someone elses crap. Here's the website where you can locate tag sales going on in Connecticut.
If you're serious about your retro, check out retroroadmap.com and if you see a blue leisure suit that I can fit into, let me know.
