The kids were hounding me for a week to set up this ball return that their grandpa bought for them. I decided yesterday that it was time. They could spend a few hours outside with dad, and I could do a mini throwing clinic.

After about 30 minutes, their interest waned, and they finally walked away from me all together. I did not notice this, however, because for me, it was Game 7 of the World Series, and I was on the mound. The brightest lights, the loudest crowd, nothing could shake my focus.

Before I knew it, it was 4 PM, and time to start the marathon of showers for the family so that we could make dinner on time. That is when I realized that I had spent the whole afternoon just hurling. My arm, to say the least, is like jelly. I don't have the facilities that the big league pitchers do, so I'll be taking a home made ice bath. I'll make a home made ice sling. I will wear it, get four days rest, and I'll be back on the mound before you know it. Because it's important for a 37-year-old radio personality to keep his throwing arm in shape. You never know when you can get that call from Brian Cashman. Hey, when you get the call from the Bigs, you pack your stuff and get moving.
