  • After 37 years of service to Newtown and surround communities Newtown Police Chief Michael Kehoe is retiring. Kehoe notified the Newtown Board of Police Commissioners this week that he would be leaving the position in January. Chief Kehoe notably steered the town during the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
  • Former New York Yankee Bernie Williams is not just a retired baseball star, he's also an amazing guitarist. Bernie will be lending those talents by mentoring Bridgeport public school students working with children at Jettie Tisdale School as part of a three year program to improve student achievement through the arts. Now that's "to cool for school"!
  • Elvis hasn't really left the building! Elvis Presley will be on the next stamp in the U.S. Postal Service's Musical Icons series. The USPS announced Elvis will be on a Forever stamp that will be introduced August 12.  He joins Johnny Cash, Lydia Mendoza, Ray Charles, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix in the Musical Icons series.
