Is laughter the best medicine? According to psychologist and laugh therapist, Steve Wilson, the effects of laughter and exercise are very similar. Laughter researcher, William Fry says that it took him 10 minutes on a rowing machine for his heart rate to reach the level it would after just ONE minute of hearty laughter.

Laughter also burns calories!! Maciej Buchowski, a researcher at Vanderbilt University conducted a study where he was able to figure out that when people engaged in 10 to 15 minutes of laughter, they burned 50 calories. Other health benefits of laughing are.....it increases blood flow, helps your immune system fight off bad stuff, helps keep blood sugar levels down, and helps with relaxation and sleep. Maybe that "Listening to the Ethan and Lou Show could save your life" is a bit over the top, BUT, it will usually put you in a better mood except for today's show, which we apologize for.
