Today is National Drink Beer Day.

Did you know that beer is the third-most consumed beverage in the world? And while you're consuming it, you may just be helping yourself. Yup, studies have been done. You aren't surprised are you?

One study finds that women who drink one or two beers a week can reduce their risk of having a heart attack by 30 percent.  Dark ales and stouts have also been said to reduce the risk of heart disease.  People who drink beer are also 41% less likely to get kidney stones.  There's also a study that suggests a compound in hops can protect the brain from disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
