As I was watching a couple of cable news channels going on about our country's political three ring circus, I suddenly remembered the opening scene from Aaron Sorkin's brilliant HBO series, 'The Newsroom.'

I admit, I am a huge fan of Sorkin. This is the man responsible for, 'A Few Good Men,' and 'The Social Network,' along with the TV series, 'The West Wing,' along with many others. In my opinion, Sorkin's most relevant work is the HBO series, 'The Newsroom,' which ended its three season run in December 2014. The first episode opens with a liberal/conservative debate set on a college theatre stage. Will McAvoy(actor Jeff Daniels) who plays an intelligent network news anchor on the show is afraid to say how he really feels about the question asked by a college student, "Can you say why America is the greatest country in the world?" Then the flood gates open! When he pauses at 2:24 of the video, keep on watching!

"It can be!" I suggest that every American should watch the actual scene from "The Newsroom," on YouTube, which I can't show you due to copyright laws, but here's the link if you're interested.

We are a nation divided against itself so whether it's Trump or Clinton, Rubio or Sanders, it's going to take more than just one man or one woman to successfully implement the phrase, "It Can Be!"
