So the guys here at the station argue with me all the time that the 90′s was one of the worst decades for music.  I disagree!

This decade did not have the same prolific artists of the 60′s, 70′s or 80′s and was also the birth of the boy band but what we lacked in consistency we made up for in a huge catalogue of genius 1 hit wonder songs from rock bands.  I’m not even saying that to be comical.  Most of the bands I will highlight had only one hit but these hits would overstep the #1 singles on most of the albums of bands from different decades.  Here is a great example:

The Foo Fighters.  Now, this is not even fair to the Foo Fighters.  They are and always will be a band that will stand the test of time.  I only identify them with the 90's because this is when they formed out of the ashes of Nirvana.  This is my Beatles.  Dave Grohl took a tragic musical situation and became the biggest rock star in the world.  Now in a world devoid of rock and roll he stands alone as the KING of a dying art.  It's cliché for me to share an obscure song with you but I'm going to because I know that rock music has faded so far into the background that most people simply don't know what they are missing.  In a world of GARBAGE country songs that my 5 year old could write, a world of Niki Minaj and Justin Beiber these gems were missed in the 90's.  I know that because if the mainstream heard them we would not have dub-step or Lady gaga.  DIG IT:

This is called:  "Hey, Johnny park."

This is called: "Up in Arms."
