How You Can Help Us With Camping For Cans

As you may have heard, our marathon "Camping For Cans" broadcast kicks off Friday morning at the Berkshire Shopping Center in Danbury. We'll be there from 6 am Friday through 4 p, Sunday collecting food for the Hillside Food Outreach.

The Hillside Food Outreach hand-delivers food to over 2000 people each month in the Fairfield, Putnam and Westchester County areas.  Many of these people don't otherwise have the means to access healthy foods.  Hillside works with their families to account for specific dietary needs as well.

How can you help? Stop by with your donation anytime, 24 hours a day during the course of the broadcast. We're looking for non-perishable food items- no turkeys please! Great ideas would be:

• Canned vegetables
• Rice
• Hot cereal
• Cold cereal
• Macaroni & Cheese
• Soup mix
• Canned soup
• Peanut butter
• Evaporated milk
• Pasta
• Dry beans
• Canned juices
• Canned fruit

In addition, Hillside could really use:

• Bathroom tissue
• Paper towels
• Diapers
• Baby food
• Soap
• Toothpaste
• Deodorant

So, while you're out this weekend grabbing stuff for your Thanksgiving Dinner, buy a couple extras and run them by the RV.  We'll be at the Berkshire Shopping Center on Newtown Road in Danbury, right across the street from Stop & Shop.  See you this weekend and thanks for helping out!
