A new list from Business Insider has ranked restaurants with the best French fries in every state. Here's what they came up with for Connecticut.

Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield was named as having the best french fries in Connecticut. Connecticut Magazine has also ranked this hot dog joint as the best. Fries are near and dear to my heart, so I have a few thoughts on this.

Here are some of my favorite fries in our area:

I like nice thick steak fries, so Two Steps and Widow Brown's in Danbury both top my personal list.

First and Ten in New Milford has decent fries, but I never eat them because their chips are so good.  Obviously, my body is a temple.

Clamps in New Milford is only open in the Summertime, but when they are, all of their food gets its hooks into you and their fries are no exception.

The fries at Maggie McFlys in Brookfield (but I'm assuming all the Maggie's locations have the same fries) are excellent even though they are skinnier than I usually like them.

For fast food, you can't come close to the fries at Five Guys. You get it all- good fries and enough of them to feed an army. And of course, occasionally you get that craving and only fries from McDonald's will do!

And I haven't been there for a few years since my son aged out of youth baseball, but there was something  about the fries in the snack bar at Nestle Field (now Garick Farms Field) in New Milford that made them absolutely the top. Maybe it was the ancient fryer, or maybe being forced to work the snack bar while my kids played games made the grease affect my brain.  I may have to stop there some weekend and see if they are still good!

As I read this I am a little frightened that I have put this much thought into french fries! What are some of your favorite places for fries?

Here's the list by state, so you can plan your own french fry road trip.
