It's called the "Lunar Effect" and it refers to the correlation between specific stages of the Earth's lunar cycle and how it affects behavior in animals and humans that simply can't be explained.

Many of us have witnessed odd and unusual behavior in some way, shape, or form when the moon is full.

The belief that a full moon affects how we behave has been going on for centuries. Many studies have been conducted regarding the moon's affect on behavior, the largest one by the University of Saskatchewan.

Before I let you in on their findings, the stories my wife told me about some of the happenings during a full moon on the psychiatric unit at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY when she was a psychiatric RN back in the early 70's were downright chilling!

If there was ever a reason to believe that the full moon and behavior were intertwined, just listen to some of our callers from this morning's show.

That study out of the University of Saskatchewan, which combined the results of about 100 studies, found  "no casual relationship between lunar phenomena and human behavior."

Well, you could have fooled me!
